PAMPAS (SAVANNAH)

At north of the Madidi National Park there is an impressive natural flood plain called the Pampas. This area doesn’t have too much flora making much easier for you to spot an impressive wildlife. During our canoe tour in the Pampas, you will be observing an abundance of animals that dwell in this region and how they gather together near the rivers edge for food, water and to stay cool. Depending upon precipitation, the pampas floods during rainy season and there are some forest fires in dry season there fire resistant trees and shrubs amongst them black palms, fruit palms this area is called the “palm swamps”—the combination of floods and dryness makes this area very fertile. There is plenty of Motacu (a well-known cactus that grows near the palms). There are some areas that are covered with water plants called yonomos, some aquatic animals make their nest and place their eggs.
